My Experience

I have taught Spanish and English for over six years, and am a director and teacher at a Spanish language school in Hawthorn. I also teach Spanish at the Maribyrnong Community Centre. I specialise in the finer points of grammar, as well as IB and University level Spanish.

How I'd Tutor You

I am not a native speaker, but are they the best teachers? Not necessarily! Are all native English speakers, including Bob next door, good English teachers based on their place of origin? I have studied Spanish from the bottom-up, and I know it intimately. Moreover, I am an English teacher, so I am able to effectively communicate my ideas to you in class, whilst empathising with your Spanish journey – which I’ve also made!

A little bit more about me

Language teaching is not about being a native, it’s about understanding the mechanics of the language being taught as well as the one used to teach. Teaching Spanish to English-speakers is about understanding BOTH. Teaching is about communication.
