My Experience

Hi! My name is Jack and I have been tutoring VCE English and Literature to students across Melbourne for over two years. I graduated in 2017 with a 50 score in English & 46 in Literature (96.45 ATAR) and won my school's English prize in year 12. I'm interested in the content and purpose of these subjects as well as how they're taught! I've provided some pro bono advice to students on the 'VCEDiscussionSpace' Facebook forum and written an extensive guide to approaching the text response essay.

How I'd Tutor You

I typically run 1-2 hour sessions in tutorial format. My approach involves looking over the work assigned by your teacher and preparing you for upcoming SACs, explaining how these assignments operate and what they demand. I like to demystify the subject and inculcate a productive, confident mentality which foregrounds the kind of thinking that they reward. I provide feedback on work that you've completed, actively explaining how you can improve your work to achieve better results.

A little bit more about me

I'm a 20 year old student studying Arts at the University of Melbourne (w/ majors in English and Politics). I never found VCE Eng/Lit to be about obsessive hours of gruntwork, and like to think the same can be true for you!
