Isla did a fantastic job of tutoring maths with our Year 10 boy who struggles a bit with motivation. She never missed a lesson and neither did he! It was quite an achievement, Thanks again IslaNiall & Shelley, 4 years ago
Isla has been fantastic with our son. His knowledge and confidence has grown in the short time she has been working with him.Jan, 4 years ago
During high school I found that tutoring others in the subjects I was taking was the best way for me to absorb the course information, so I was a tutor throughout my school years. I mainly focused on Maths, Economics and English with some Science. This was all through a program my school ran in order to benefit both the tutors and those needing extra help. Economics is my love - I was in a team in 2014 that won an economic policy analysis award with the Treasury.
My technique is to create a bulletpointed list of all individual topics needing to be understood. Step by step we'll go through each point, until we are sure that it's understood completely! We'll discuss each point until the pupil can explain it to me, and then go through practice questions to prepare for tests. Using this approach will allow us to make sure we haven't missed any content or links between different concepts.
Other than academics, I love to play soccer and go to the beach. I'd love to be your tutor, not only does it keep the information fresh in my mind, I love being able to push people to the extent of their abilities and see how proud they can become!
Your enquiry has gone straight to the tutor's inbox (and a copy to yours). You should recieve a reply ASAP, usually within 24 hours.
