A review, a review!
My kingdom for a review!
I am an engineer at Fisher & Paykel Healthcare looking to get back into the tutoring industry. I have experience with math tutoring since high school, being a lead tutor in the High School Math Tutoring club, as well as working as a private tutor for 3 years. I am also a high achiever, obtaining awards in maths during high school and receiving scholarships. With my experience and passion, I will definitely be able to push you towards your goals.
I believe there are two types of tutoring: ones that teach difficult concepts, and ones that teach students how to learn difficult concepts. I personally think tutors should aim to achieve the latter, but like all good things, teaching a learning method takes a much longer time than teaching individual concepts. For that reason, I am flexible with the style of teaching, whether it is for building skillsets in the long term or preparing for that math test next week.
As someone who went from alternative maths, lowest level stream, in year 7 to grade accelerate class in year 9, I am certain that almost everyone can improve their skills in mathematics through appropriate guidance and targeted efforts.
Your enquiry has gone straight to the tutor's inbox (and a copy to yours). You should recieve a reply ASAP, usually within 24 hours.
We recommend you contact three tutors, as this tutor may not be able to fit into your schedule. See here for tips on finalising an arrangement with a tutor.
For lesson payments, your tutor will bill you directly via email. No cash required – debit or credit cards are accepted at no extra charge.
