Only had two sessions so far. My daughter feels more confidentPaula, 11 months ago
I have been tutoring maths for over three years specialising in VCE Maths Methods, but also taking on students across all high school math levels. I graduated from high school in 2014 scoring over 40 in Specialist Maths, Maths Methods, Physics, and Chinese as a Second Language. I am now studying a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne, majoring in Physics and completing a concurrent diploma in applied mathematics.
There is no one teaching style that will speak to every student, so I aim to tailor my lessons to individual student's needs. However one common theme I employ in all of my tutoring sessions is a focus on goal setting and challenging yourself. If a student needs it I will set extra work, but I have found that most students have more than enough problems to do and just need help understanding it then putting it into practice.
I love hockey and rowing and have been coaching both the sports for nearly four years now. I believe my experience as a coach has had a positive impact on my tutoring.
